Mr. Pradit & Mrs. Somsook Kaljaruek - Pioneers of the Thai Entertainment Industry

Kantana was founded in 1951 as a radio drama troupe by Mr. Pradit and Mrs. Somsook Kaljaruek. In 1958, the company expanded to television production starting with drama series "Ying Kor Mee Hua Jai" ("The Soul of A Woman"), broadcasted at the then Channel 7 (which is now Channel 5). Thereinafter, Kantana continues to produce numerous valuable content. The company diversified its production into television series, feature films, TV commercials, documentaries, and various TV programs. As a leader of Thai conglomerate in the entertainment industry, Kantana's business spread out to cover variety of services including providing production equipment, locations as well as post-production for TV programs and feature films. These content are shown on television stations, cinemas, and other media channels such as IPTV, Cable TV, and Internet Broadband networks in Thailand and Indochina.

With its extensive experience in entertainment business well over 56 years, Kantana always initiates and creates variety of entertainment programs to meet market demand. Kantana is well equipped to provide state-of-the-art services to all production process whether they are TV programs, dram series, 3D animation, or features films.

The business operations of the company and its subsidiaries are divided into 3 business areas: (1) Television Program and Related Business, (2) Film and Post Production, and (3) Edutainment and Government Relation.
